           SWAMI VIVEKANANDA

Swami Vivekanand was one of the greatest religious heroes. He was also a social reformer. He was born in Calcutta in 1862. His father's name was Bishwanath Dutta. He was a pleader. Vivekananda was a bright student in school as well as in college. He passed the B.A. Examination with honours in Philosophy. He was the favourite disciple of Ramkrishna. After Ramkrishna's death he went about touring all over India and came in close touch with the mass. He tried to relieve the sufferings of the mass of the people. He went to the parliament of religion at Chicago. There he established the greatness of Hindu religion. He established Belur Math and Ramkrishna Mission. His birthday is celebrated all over India as "Yuba Dibas"
